Yesterday was my first triathlon race in Montery, Mexico
4 place I finished with a respectable time 1:17:53
I put a little time after my race to give you my news. I was expecting the official results of the ITU to confirm my result! In addition, I had a telephone meeting after the race with Luc to talk and debriefing about the race.
The day was long and busy. I got up at 5 am to be in the athlete’s lounge since we have a bike checking, and a racing chair, a helmet and race suit checking.
Our transition zone area access time and warm up time session to it is limited in the time. Once it is done we have athlete presentation before the race start.
I will summarize you my race in a few lines instead of writing a novel of 200 pages, So, I can tell you my race is a good season’s start. If I look globally my race, I did a good race. I have positive and negative shots for this race! I committed technical errors that cost me the podium. There were small error due to my stress and the time gap between this race and my last one from July 2014.
Technically, I would have swam 1 min 45 s….50 s per 100m and I have done a bike around 36 minutes and run closed to 13 min 45 s but I started my swim too fast to stay with the first two athlete heading to me. That was my first mistake and it’s the one that cost me the most because energy level I burned into my energy reserved for the rest of the race. I also had some trouble with my orientation in the water, which has also affected my speed. Obviously, I had a bike a little slower because of it, but I still had a good run even if I wanted to make it within 14 minutes.
The transitions have been slower in this race to all those in my life because I had volunteers provided by the organization to help me for remove the wet suit and help me to get into faster in my bike and my racing chair 10 minutes before my swim warm up. In addition to, they did not speak English. I was very disadvantaged. The first top three had their own handler to help them. So!

I would honestly say a huge thank you to my coach, Michael, Brian, Ronald, Larry, Deann, Marty, Jennifer, Robin, Charles and all those who are working in Highway 12 and SVC winery for all your support and your contributions and your time. The most important thing into my time in Sonoma is your friendship and for the good time that I spent the last two months of training with you all in Sonoma. You have contributed to the success of this race, but also give success to my next races!
